Born out of a passion for dogs, The Modern Dog Boston (MDB) was founded in 2009, by Charles Maneikis, a life-long resident of Dorchester. In its early days MDB was solely a dog walking service, however in 2013 it grew into a brick and mortar grooming, retail, and DIY dog wash on Dorchester Ave. In August of 2020, MDB continued to expand its pawprint in the Greater Boston area opening up a second location in Quincy. Located just off the ocean, this location in Marina Bay contains a doggie daycare, boutique, professional bathing, and DIY dog wash.
